AK-47 VS AR-15
Recently bought an Ak-47, more precisely a chinese norinco type 56-1 underfolder.
It is definitely one of the most beautiful gun i have ever owned.
the finish on the gun, everything from the bluage to the wood, to the inside of the receiver, everything is smooth.
the trigger is pure butter.
gas piston, bolt, etc. clean.
i was unfamiliar with the particular way the AK-47 is operated, the magazine release felt kinda weird the first couple minutes. but once i got the hang of it, suddently, it felt amazingly solid and smooth at the same time. you insert the magazine and you hear "that" sound, and you know it's right there where it should be. so nice.
the underfolder stock is really a bitch, so tight, but i guess this is because its brand new. i put some oil in there and well, it seemed a bit less tight, but still hard on the finger.
once pulled under though, the AK suddently becomes so small and compact, you can actually hide it under your jacket.
the sling feels pretty nice and solid, and definitely much less cheap than that viking sling shit i bought for my AR.
the sight system of the AK-47 just makes it so easy to aim, unlike the AR, all you need to do is level the gun to your shoulder and now already you are in line with your target
And it is a beauty. so nice. just look at her beautiful shapes. amazing. truly a work of art.
safety is acting as a dust cover, so it's pretty neat.
It just feels so damn right. sure the AR got a nice cool look to it, but man, it does not feel nowhere near as smooth and clean as the AK. In comparison, the AR is rough, slow, weird, complicated, noisy, uneasy. Tactical but not practical. Modern but not classical.
And Lastly, as the cherry on the ice cake, the AK is cheap. fifty percent of the price of the AR. Jesus. even the ammo is cheaper.
back then when i believed chinese AKs were of poor quality, i could not have been more far from the truth ! That's why i bought American. and for the tactical shit i also fell for
